The 15-track album is set to release on May 17.&nbsp;

Earlier today, Zayn took to his Instagram to tease fans with the tracklist for his upcoming fourth studio album, Room Under The Stairs. The album consists of 15 songs and, as per the Instagram clip, is written in what appears to be Malik's handwriting.&nbsp;

The sentiment and inspiration behind the album's name comes from Malik's childhood memories of the media he consumed.&nbsp;
"There&rsquo;s a dark horror movie that I watched when I was growing up called&nbsp;The People Under the Stairs," <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/zayn-malik-interview-room-under-the-stairs-album-inspiration-daughter-khai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Malik told </a><a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/zayn-malik-interview-room-under-the-stairs-album-inspiration-daughter-khai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">L'OFFICIEL USA</a>. "I probably watched it when I was younger than I should have. I always thought the idea of being under the stairs had a powerful sentiment to it, and I ended up coincidentally recording most of my record in a shoe cupboard under the stairs. So I was like,&nbsp;This is perfect."&nbsp;
The album has been six years in the making while he tended to his garden at his secluded home in rural Pennsylvania. Malik revealed to L'OFFICIEL USA that this album has a stripped-down acoustic sound with confessional lyrics about who Malik is now as a father to his three-year-old daughter, Khai. Throughout L'OFFICIEL USA's interview with Malik, it's clear that Khai and their environment were quite the inspiration for the album.&nbsp;
The two often spend time tending to the garden, and Malik mentions that he's in awe of his daughter already being able to understand and appreciate music.&nbsp;
"I&rsquo;m just trying to keep her grounded and enjoying the Earth, rather than all the noise that comes with it," he says.&nbsp;&nbsp;
With the upcoming release of the album, fans are hoping Zayn leaves his rural Pennsylvania home for a bit to tour, something he has yet to do during his solo career. <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/zayn-malik-teases-new-tour-room-under-the-stairs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">During a recent live stream </a>Zayn did on Stationhead, he played his hit song "Sweat" from his album&nbsp;Nobody Is Listening. A fan sneakily asked if he would play it on tour. Zayn's cryptic response? &ldquo;Ummm, yes, that is the answer. Umm, yeah, I&rsquo;d be stupid not to.&rdquo;
So, there may be a tour following Room Under The Stairs's&nbsp;release.&nbsp;
Zayn's next single "Alienated," is set to be released on April 12th and will be followed by the album's release on May 17.&nbsp;
