On view from October 28 to November 16, the Fondation Louis Vuitton presents two of Gustave Caillebotte&rsquo;s masterpieces in New York.&nbsp;

The Fondation Louis Vuitton, in collaboration with the Mus&eacute;e d&rsquo;Orsay in Paris and the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, has officially unveiled an unprecedented exhibition at Espace Louis Vuitton New York featuring two of Gustave Caillebotte&rsquo;s defining works: "Jeune homme &agrave; sa fen&ecirc;tre" (&ldquo;Young Man at His Window,&rdquo; 1876) and "Partie de bateau" (&ldquo;Boating Party,&rdquo; c. 1877&ndash;1878).
On loan from the Getty and the Mus&eacute;e d&rsquo;Orsay, the paintings are displayed side by side for the first time, offering a rare dialogue between two visions of modern masculinity in late 19th-century France. The presentation, made possible through LVMH&rsquo;s acquisition of "Partie de bateau"&mdash;a French National Treasure&mdash;invites visitors to rediscover Caillebotte&rsquo;s unique role within Impressionism and modern art.

Known for his unique compositions and psychological depth, Caillebotte portrayed men not as distant subjects but as active participants in a changing world, reflecting shifting ideas of individuality, intimacy, and leisure during the industrial age. "Jeune homme &agrave; sa fen&ecirc;tre" captures introspection within a Parisian interior, while "Partie de bateau" conveys movement and sociability along the Seine.&nbsp;
This presentation follows major retrospectives at the Mus&eacute;e d&rsquo;Orsay, the Getty, and the Art Institute of Chicago, reaffirming Caillebotte&rsquo;s place among the great modern painters. Through this new pairing, the Fondation Louis Vuitton underscores his enduring influence and the continuing dialogue between French Impressionism and the evolution of contemporary art.
On view from October 28 through November 16, 2025, the presentation brings together these two masterpieces for the first time. The exhibition will be held at Espace Louis Vuitton New York (6 E 57th Street, 5th floor, New York, NY), open Mondays to Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
