To mark Hong Kong Arts Month, The Peninsula Hong Kong unveils a new edition of Art in Resonance&mdash;an immersive program where contemporary art, craftsmanship, and sensory experience converge.

Amid the buzz of Hong Kong Arts Month, The Peninsula Hong Kong unveils the latest edition of its global Art in Resonance program, transforming its iconic address into a dynamic showcase for contemporary art. Staying true to its commitment to cultural dialogue, the hotel has invited three artists to take over its spaces&mdash;from the grand lobby and iconic fa&ccedil;ade to the newly reimagined Verandah Caf&eacute;.
Conceived as a thoughtful intersection of art and hospitality, the 2026 edition brings together the distinct visions of Angel Hui, Albert Yonathan Setyawan, and Dr. William Lim, in partnership with the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum.
Summing up the initiative, Managing Director Benjamin Vuchot notes, &ldquo;This new edition reflects our long-term commitment to fostering artistic innovation and cultural exchange in the cities we call home.&rdquo;

From the outside, Angel Hui&rsquo;s Swimming in Light immediately draws the eye. Her signature embroidered goldfish appear to glide across the fa&ccedil;ade, catching the light in a delicate, almost hypnotic rhythm. Both poetic and quietly whimsical, the installation transforms the everyday into something dreamlike.
Inside, the lobby is home to Metamorphic Modulation by Albert Yonathan Setyawan&mdash;an immersive, architectural installation composed of more than 700 ceramic forms. Are they leaves or flowers? The ambiguity invites slow, fluid contemplation, as shadow and repetition blur the lines between sculpture, space, and viewer.
Further in, the Verandah Caf&eacute; becomes a surreal, dreamlike setting with Walking On A Bright Future. Inspired by a painting by William Lim, the installation wraps the space in a textile-driven, graphic environment that evokes both monumental tapestries and checkerboard motifs. At its center, a young boy gazes toward an imagined future&mdash;fish floating in the sky, a moon suspended overhead&mdash;creating a space that exists somewhere between reality and fantasy.

Art isn&rsquo;t just meant to be seen; it&rsquo;s meant to be experienced. At The Peninsula Hong Kong, that extends to the plate, with a series of culinary creations inspired by the works on view.
In the Lobby, pastries and afternoon tea transform visual motifs into texture and flavor. Meanwhile, at the Verandah Caf&eacute;, three desserts&mdash;Crystal Ball, Blossom, and Paintbrush&mdash;offer refined, edible interpretations of William Lim&rsquo;s world, complemented by a selection of handcrafted cocktails.

Beyond the visual experience, Art in Resonance underscores a larger mission: to support artists in their evolution while introducing the public to new work. As curator Dr. Louis Copplestone notes, &ldquo;Supporting mid-career artists by offering them a platform to present major new works is a powerful opportunity for artistic growth.&rdquo;
Through this initiative, The Peninsula Hong Kong does more than exhibit art; it activates it. By making contemporary work immersive and accessible, the program reinforces Hong Kong&rsquo;s role as a global hub for cultural exchange and creative innovation.

Timed to Hong Kong Art Week, The Art Newspaper celebrates a major milestone with the launch of its Hong Kong print edition, reaffirming its ties to one of Asia&rsquo;s most dynamic art scenes. The moment aligns with The Peninsula Hong Kong&rsquo;s global Art in Resonance program, which spotlights newly commissioned works that reinterpret craftsmanship through a contemporary lens while fostering cultural dialogue and innovation.
The week culminated in the annual cocktail reception, now considered the official kickoff to Hong Kong Art Week, drawing more than 600 guests, followed by an intimate dinner hosted in partnership with&nbsp;The Art Newspaper and L&rsquo;Officiel Art. Set against the sweeping skyline views of the Sun Terrace, collectors, artists, and key figures in the art world experienced immersive installations by Angel Hui, Albert Yonathan Setyawan, and Dr. William Lim.
With influential voices including Benjamin Vuchot, Julia Michalska, Charles F. Stewart, and Marc Spiegler in attendance, the evening brought together an international mix of collectors and cultural leaders&mdash;further cementing Hong Kong&rsquo;s status as a global hub for contemporary art.
