How to Laminate Your Brows Without Actually Laminating Them

The latest brow trend is in—and you can get the look right at home.

Microblading alternative, soap brow relative—laminated brows are the new social media craze. A chemical treatment that takes thinning hairs, smooths them out, and creates an illusion of an arched, full eyebrow: brow lamination creates dramatic results that mimic the brows of favorite celebrities Cara Delevingne and Zendaya. However, given the products and chemical processes involved, brow lamination can leave skin prone to irritation and damage your natural hairs. But not to worry, L'OFFICIEL has taken it upon itself to round up alternative ways to laminate brows without actually laminating them right from home.

Soap and Water

Perhaps the most straightforward alternative to lamination, you can use soap and water to create a laminated effect, similar to the viral soap brow trend. All you need is soap, a spoolie brush, and some setting spray. Use the brush to gather a bit of soap and apply it to each eyebrow, brushing upwards and outwards to create a high arch. Once satisfied, smooth out your eyebrows with your finger and spray on some setting spray to help the brow stay in place.

Vaseline

Vaseline brows are another easy way to achieve a laminated brow look with a product you likely have already. Use your fingers to apply minimal Vaseline to your eyebrows and a spoolie brush to brush the hairs into an arched shape. Let them set for a few minutes before smoothing your brows with water. Vaseline will also add an extra shiny finish, much like the real brow lamination procedure.

News flash: brow gels are not only ideal for holding your brows in place but can be used to "laminate" them as well. They are great for shaping your eyebrows; some gels even provide an extra tint for more fullness.
