Brunello Cucinelli Gets a Little More Edgy for Fall/Winter 2025
Titled "Anamnesis," the collection leans into more of an edgy feeling, compared to past seasons defined by a purist form of masculine elegance.
"Anamnesis," Brunello Cucinelli's Fall/Winter 2025 collection, is "a celebration of the balance between memory and innovation, proposing a stylistic journey that mixes sartorial roots with contemporary needs," the brand tells L'OFFICIEL Italy during its presentation during Milan Fashion Week. The concept of anamnesis (which can be translated from Italian to "memory") is derived from Greek philosophy. In the collection, it's intended to be a recognition of eternal ideas, "permeates every garment, with the aim of rediscovering the original identity of men's clothing."
The brand has had a major moment in the zeitgeist over recent years, in large thanks to its ties to the TV show Succession and being a major brand in the quiet luxury trend that's dominated in past seasons. The Fall/Winter 2025 collection still possesses that masculine elegance it's known for, but the new pieces also boast a more youthful and edgy feeling.
The collection stands out for its careful balance between formal and casual clothing, one through the use of materials and colors—ranging from amaranth red to sapphire blue, passing through warm shades such as pumpkin and radicchio to the timeless classics, grays and beiges. Each piece is designed to mix tailoring with lightness, "a fundamental pillar of the fall winter 2025 proposal," per the Umbrian brand.
Classic suits are combined with colorful sweaters, refined jackets are paired with denim trousers and soft coats complete relaxed but detailed looks. The ensemble synthesizes a dynamic aesthetic, where accuracy and comfort coexist in perfect harmony. An element to focus on is the knitwear, which becomes the bearer of artisanal three-dimensionality thanks to rare yarns and fibers. Jacquard patterns and contrasting textures renew the classic taste with modern workmanship, including the revisited English stitch and the chevron motif.
