In his debut collection for the house, Rider blends effortless cool with timeless elegance, redefining Celine with gold chains, silk scarves, and powerful silhouettes.

After much anticipation, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/celine-michael-rider-debut-paris-haute-couture-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michael Rider&rsquo;s</a> Celine has arrived&mdash;and it&rsquo;s nothing short of perfectly executed. His Spring 2026 debut is a breath of fresh air: refined, nonchalant, and rooted in an elegance that doesn&rsquo;t try too hard. Even in its most chaotic moments&mdash;scarves layered, chains piled on, silhouettes clashing&mdash;there&rsquo;s a sense of intention. The collection embraces disorder, but never quite loses control.
&ldquo;Coming back to <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/tags/celine" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Celine</a>, and to Paris, back to 16 rue Vivienne in a changed world, has been incredibly emotional for me,&rdquo; Rider shared in his show notes. That emotion translated into clothing that feels grounded in both nostalgia and modernity&mdash;thoughtful, lived-in, and very much self-assured.
Taking cues from predecessor <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/hedi-slimane-leaves-celine-creative-director" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hedi Slimane</a>, Rider continues the house&rsquo;s love affair with sharp tailoring and skinny silhouettes, especially in menswear. Men's leggings and skinny jeans&mdash;a Slimane signature&mdash;still made their rounds, now softened by a styling approach that feels freer, less rigid.

Accessories reigned supreme: gold chains hung loose around necks and cinched waists, silk scarves floated effortlessly through multiple looks, and the shoes, not to be overlooked, with many of the models sporting Celine boxing boots. Wider pants were even tucked into them, adding more flair and structure to loose silhouettes.&nbsp;
&ldquo;We worked on translating [Celine&rsquo;s values] into a way of dressing&mdash;attitudes that we feel describe who we are and what we stand for,&rdquo; Rider explained. That ethos was evident in the silhouettes, from the oversized blazers that command attention to the layering of different fabrics and textures.
This is a Celine that feels emotionally intelligent. Fashion with memory, and luxury with longevity. And with this debut, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/michael-rider-new-creative-director-of-celine-hedi-slimane" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rider</a> makes it clear: he&rsquo;s not chasing trends&mdash;he&rsquo;s building a legacy.
