Cheer's Lexi Brumback and Gabi Butler are at Brandon Maxwell Fall 2020
Everyone has been freaking out about Netflix’s Cheer docuseries over the past few weeks—how could you not, with the lovable cast and impressive stunts? Now, fans have a new reason to get excited about the Navarro Bulldogs: Lexi Brumback and Gabi Butler are at New York Fashion Week. The two cheerleading talents were spotted backstage at the Museum of Natural History ahead of the Brandon Maxwell Fall 2020 show on Saturday night, and L'Officiel USA overheard them discussing cheering on the runway (!).
Bella Hadid was present getting her makeup done, and all seemed to be the busy but calm routine that happens before any fashion show. But it turned out a lot of buzz was coming from the far back corner, where tumbling talent Brumback and YouTube-famous Butler were spotted eagerly chatting in their Navarro College uniforms.
"Will we be cheering on the runway?" said one to the other. "Well, we've tumbled even in hotel hallways," said Butler, insinuating that it wouldn't be a challenge. They can, they will, they must!
Unfortunately, we learned that the two aren't actually going to tumble during the show (they tumbled through the space earlier as part of a special Instagram project), but they are attending, so still expect pictures of them watching the collection to be all over.
Maxwell has always been known for his joyous approach to fashion and celebration of strong women all around him, so it’s only natural that he would invite cast members from Cheer, the show that’s been inspiring us all throughout the start of 2020, to attend his latest runway event. New York Fashion Week is always full of surprises, and Brumback and Butler’s appearance at the Brandon Maxwell Fall 2020 runway show was a great one indeed. Here’s hoping we see more of them (and/or their fellow cast members) at some of the remaining events.
