Models wearing intricate embroidery and voluminous silhouettes graced the steps of the Plaza de España in Seville today during the the Dior Cruise show. The collection was inspired by legendary flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya, “who through the gesture of dance combines strength and fragility. She is capable of depicting the soul of Spain and interpreting a conscious feminine idea that is feminism,” Artistic Director María Grazia Chiuri explained on Instagram.

With the addition of flamenco dancers and suspenseful violins, the show began with a simple black-and-white look: A white shirt, paired with black suspenders and slacks, layered underneath a black knit poncho with white embroidery and fringe detailing.

Looks that followed featured this same classic color combination, until slowly, a rich, red shade began to make its appearance, followed by additional, darker taupes, neutrals, and jewel tones.

The silhouettes varied from structured suits to heavy skirts, with elements like lace, velvet, and ruffles dispersed throughout the collection. Flat-brimmed hats tipped slightly to one side added an air of mystery.
