Known for his immaculate use of prints and textures, Dries Van Noten rose to fame in the 1980s as one of the Antwerp Six. From there, the designer brought his first women's collection to Paris in 1993, and the rest is history. In a career spanning five decades, Dries Van Noten has become a household name and left an indelible mark on the fashion industry.

Dries Van Noten officially announced his departure in March, citing his excitement "to make room for a new generation of talents who can bring their vision to the brand." Now, the time has come for the designer's final collection.

As the models took to the catwalk, garments displaying the mastery of Van Noten's work emerged. The Antwerp designer's trademarks, such as color clashing and artfully combined prints, were abundant, with a balanced visual line of minimalism running throughout. The designer pulled from many different references to create this epic final collection. The gold embroidery is reminiscent of his Men's Fall/Winter 2016 collection, and the eccentric approach to suiting is a nod to Fall/Winter 2019.

The models were a mix of young new faces and brand staples, a testament to Dries Van Noten's commitment to progress. An unprecedented amount of designers also attended to show their support and solidarity, including Diane von Furstenberg, Thom Browne, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Glenn Martens, Pierpaolo Piccioli, and many more.

The long-covered catwalk adorned with silver leaf meant to reflect light onto the oncoming models was a gleaming finale of an illustrious career. The choice of setting is also a callback to Van Noten's first collection, which featured a catwalk with gold leaf strewn about. Many people were seen scooping up the silver leaves after the show's conclusion as a memento of a historic moment.

Dries Van Noten's final show flaunted over 125 different looks and closed his wonderful and awe-inspiring career with a dazzling finale.
