A hymn to youth, with a final surprise. On the first day of Milan Men's Fashion Week, Giorgio Armani brings his Emporio Armani to the catwalk and amazes everyone with a surprise ending: when the lights go out and the maxi tricolor turns on, the atmosphere becomes serious and patriotic. The designer announces that he will dress the Italian team at the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, continuing, once again, the collaboration with CONI and Cip, solidifying the designer's relationship with the world of sport. To animate the runway, the Olympic and Paralympic athletes who will take part in the next games, in total 20 Olympic athletes and nine Paralympics, including Alex Zanardi and Bebe Vio, marched for different disciplines with the official blue suit and the EA7 writing, complete with a big circular Italian flag on the chest.

"I am happy with this collaboration that renews a partnership born in 2010. I find it always stimulating to design the uniforms of the athletes who must base the elegance of the style on the practicality of use", explained the designer who will also sign the official uniform for the ceremony of July 24, 2020, at the Tokyo National Olympic Stadium. "It's wonderful, Giorgio Armani has been close to the CONI for some time," added Giovanni Malagò, chairman of the committee, "his uniforms are so beautiful that many athletes from other teams envy them." The designer brought his spring-summer 2020 collection to the stage, telling a story of everyday urban life, made of denim with street details but also of light and fluctuating tailoring, with bold colors like bronze or tobacco, but also with comfortable silhouettes, complete with deconstructed jackets and parachute pants. The collection tells a new generation how to interpret Armani, with a thought towards the future.
