From the catfights to the catwalk, there were many a spectacle to behold this past NYFW.

American fashion titan Ralph Lauren celebrated the 50th Anniversary of his eponymous label this past NYFW, and his&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/ralph-lauren-spring-2019" target="_blank">star-studded show</a> featured the likes of Hillary Clinton and Oprah Winfrey. The show, which took over Central Park&#39;s Bethesda Terrace,&nbsp;and its following dinner were the buzziest invites of this past NYFW.

Ralph Lauren Celebrates 50 Years

While the two female rappers have kept their beef relatively discreet in the past, the drama came to a head when the two fought at an NYFW party. Videos of Cardi B leaving the party barefoot prompted a social media craze.

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B Showdown

The first major show of NYFW was <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/tom-ford-spring-2019" target="_blank">Tom Ford</a>, where the debonnaire designer sent corseted models down a hotly-lit runway. With the likes of Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid ushering in fashion month, Ford&#39;s shows always set the bar pretty high. From an A-list front row (Tom Hanks and Cardi B sat just a few seats apart), the show definitely lived up to all the Fashion Week hype.

Tom Ford Brings the Corset Center-Stage

Weeksville, Brooklyn, was one of the first communities of free black people before the abolition of slavery, and it&#39;s also where Pyer Moss&#39;s Spring collection showed. Complete with a gospel choir, the show had clothes just as politically-charged as its choice of venue, bringing identity to the forefront of his work. &quot;SEE US NOW?&quot; reads the embroidering on a cummerbund; &quot;STOP CALLING 911 ON THE CULTURE,&quot; says the lettering on the left breast of a tee. And while the trek across the bridge mid-NYFW isn&#39;t easy, it was well worth the journey.

Pyer Moss Celebrates the African-American Experience

Raf Simons&#39; Calvin Klein shows have become something of NYFW lore. Half-art, half-celebration of Americana, his collections channel the often-overlooked dark side of American culture. So, as his preoccupations were on <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/calvin-klein-205w39nyc-spring-2019">horror movies</a>&nbsp;this season (most specifically, Jaws), wet-haired models soaked the collars of their looks with their dripping strands and the idea of the narrative came centerfold.&nbsp;

Calvin Klein Goes into The Splash Zone

Telfar Clemens got a lot of praise following his win of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund last year, but the hype he&#39;s created around Telfar Global is all his own. His&nbsp;performance/runway show at a helicopter pad on the East River this season was particularly captivating, with spectators left to watch the show through a chainlink fence. His takes on denim, as well as repetitive stampings of the Budweiser logo, brought a fresh touch to the oft-overdone twisted-Americana NYFW has become known for.

Telfar Global Goes to the Helipad

Marc Jacobs (in)famously delayed his show a decade ago for over two hours, leaving the fashion crowd and VIPs demanding his head on a spike. And while the fallout was immense, it didn&#39;t stop Jacobs from doing it again <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/marc-jacobs-spring-2019">this time around</a>. Rumors swirled that it was to get back at Rihanna, who nabbed his week-ending spot. Other hearsay speaks of traffic delaying sample deliveries. Either way, the show was worth the wait for his grand take on getting dressed up.

Marc Jacobs delays NYFW; Is Still Worth It

When New York power-duo Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs announced that the latter of the two would be leaving their label, Cushnie et Ochs, there was no certainty over what direction the brand would go in. What would happen to their pared-down, no-frills take on unique dressing? Well, simply as <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/cushnie-spring-2019" target="_blank">Cushnie</a>&nbsp;(as the brand is now named) puts it, body-hugging silhouettes in sensual silks and indigo denim stole the show. With this collection, Carly Cushnie made it clear that while the partnership behind the brand&#39;s inception may have ended, they&#39;ll&nbsp;be New York mainstays regardless.

Carly Cushnie Goes Solo

After Proenza Schouler&#39;s self-imposed exile to Paris, where the brand showed twice, they&#39;ve finally decided to come back to New York. Shimmering silver pieces&mdash;a vest here, a tote there&mdash;took on a life of their own alongside both acid-wash and dark indigo denim; even a leather button-up got the PS treatment. While they&#39;ll always have Paris, the likes of Amber Valletta, Kaia Gerber, and Vittoria Ceretti got to be the brand&#39;s welcoming-back committee.
