Collaborating with Nothing Technology, the designer blurred the lines between workwear and futurism, proving that phones and headphones belong on the runway too.

Jane Wade has climbed yet another rung on the corporate ladder&mdash;or rather, descended a floor&mdash;to the fulfillment center for Spring/Summer 2026. Known for her chic, deconstructed take on workwear, Wade has consistently explored the wardrobe of the working class and elevated it with a fashion-forward lens. This season, her focus shifted to blue-collar uniforms, but with an added layer that pushed her vision into the future: technology.
In partnership with Nothing Technology, Wade introduced accessories that blurred the line between utility and style. The brand&rsquo;s deconstructed, futuristic headphones and earbuds appeared throughout the collection, styled as if they were as integral to the look as a belt or bag. Speaking exclusively to L&rsquo;OFFICIEL, Wade explained that the collaboration was &ldquo;a long time coming&rdquo; and emphasized her intent for it to feel deeply embedded in the collection rather than tacked on. &ldquo;Tech has always been a part of my shows, so my team and I wanted to work with someone who shared that vision,&rdquo; Wade explained. The collaboration felt seamless, as both brands embrace a deconstructed, futuristic aesthetic&mdash;making Nothing&rsquo;s hardware the perfect complement to her evolving vision of workwear.

With Wade&rsquo;s signature inside-out aesthetic, the collection pushed deconstruction further&mdash;think voluminous skirts pieced together from button-down blouses and exposed seams worn as a badge of honor. To maintain the workfloor sensibility, models carried oversized bookbags and even custom Jane Wade water bottles. As the show progressed, the utilitarian mood gave way to a glimmer of elegance: shiny, hand-crocheted brass tops and dresses, some finished with fringe that added both movement and a touch of drama.
By weaving in everyday tech&mdash;phones, headphones, and other essentials&mdash;Wade grounded her otherwise conceptual workwear in reality. &ldquo;Sometimes fashion shows can be very ethereal and feel like a place that&rsquo;s not real,&rdquo; she reflected. With Spring/Summer 2026, Wade sought to bridge that gap, merging the grit of labor with the ubiquity of modern technology, ultimately reframing what workwear and fashion&rsquo;s relationship to tech can look like. It can seem dystopian to some, but it&rsquo;s the reality we are faced with, and Wade is embracing it fully.
