New York Fashion Week aligns with Hispanic Heritage Month, and a culmination of the two takes form in the incredible work of Latinx designers who draw on their upbringing, traditions, and cultures, bringing them into their work and placing them on the stage of NYFW.&nbsp;
Rising designer&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/patricio-campillo-spring-summer-2026-collection-nyfw-interview" target="_blank" style="font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Open Sans', 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 0.9375rem; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: 0px;" rel="noopener">Patricio Campillo</a> uses his training in basketry, along with weaving, both learnt from Mexican culture, to create dynamic and innovative clothing. His collections are impressive, drawing attention as one of the best upcoming brands presenting this week. Dwarmis Concepcion utilizes her Dominican perspective, combined with her current life as a New Yorker, to create a collection that reflects these two intertwined lifestyles.&nbsp;
The best collections often echo similar concepts to those of these two designers, drawing upon past experiences to inform the present moment and create something for the future. The range of talent, knowledge, and inspiration coming from Latin designers is immense, and this fashion week brings some of the top names to the center stage.

In a previous interview with L'OFFICIEL, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/patricio-campillo-spring-summer-2026-collection-nyfw-interview">Patricio Campillo</a> cites his heritage as a reference for his identity, and his collection carries through with this message. The Mexican designer had his NYFW debut one year ago, and has quickly risen to fame, carrying the brand's message of sustainable production and the durability of its materials. Campillo presented a genderless collection, favoring oversized silhouettes and colors reminiscent of the natural world.

Dwarmis, created by Dwarmis Concepcion, takes inspiration from the founder's ties to the Dominican Republic, contrasting this with an urbanized take in reference to her current New York lifestyle. The collections are made in small quantities, again referencing the importance of sustainable and conscious creation within the fashion industry. Dwarmis presented the Cuerpo collection at the Cristina Grajales Gallery, naming it a "celebration of the body."

Elena Velez will present the Badland collection on September 16, an ode to dystopias, destruction, and detachment. The collection looks to create an entire "Badland universe," a level of aspiration that is consistent with the Puerto Rican designer. 
Velez's label continues to push the boundaries of what a brand can become, embracing a level of creativity and imagination that deserves recognition within the fashion industry. The first look at this new collection maintains the dim and greying color palette that is characteristic of Elena Velez, the label's personality being continuously developed into a standalone project.

While Willy Chavarria will skip out on the usual runway show this fashion week, he still presented a Spring/Summer 2026 women's collection, hosted in the fashion of a salon appointment. The intimate gathering offers an ode to long-gone times of the salon era of shopping, with guests receiving catalogues. Chavarria has announced that the collection will be sold with Printemps in New York and will open with a private pre-sale.&nbsp;

Fernando Garcia, part of the genius behind Monse, is Dominican raised and founded the brand in 2015 with Laura Kim. The brand&nbsp;places a strong emphasis on tailoring, featuring sharp silhouettes and a chic aesthetic. The mission of Monse has been to emphasize the effortless attitude of the modern woman, an elegance that stands apart. Garcia has also worked as a Creative Director at Oscar de la Renta, making a notable impact on their most celebrated lines.&nbsp;

Luar, created by Raul Lopez, presents a highly anticipated event on September 15 in New York, marking the close of fashion week. With cinched waists and wide shoulders, Lopez's designs pay homage to the female body, as an accentuation of what already beautifully exists. The designer is proud of his connection to the Dominican Republic as well as a lifetime spent and career built in Brooklyn.&nbsp;
