Rihanna showed her Savage X Fenty Fall 2018 collection last night at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, closing New York Fashion Week for the season and arguably setting a new tone for runway shows everywhere, one that places diversity at the forefront. With each season Rihanna continues to disrupt the norm by hiring models of all sizes and backgrounds (including a very pregnant Slick Woods) and offering her pieces at a reasonable price point.

“We want to make people look good and feel good,” says Rihanna. “We want you to feel sexy and have fun doing it." The collection was shown on a lush runway that included floral installations within glass domes and foggy ponds, while models moved through choreographies that displayed the comfort and functionality of the lingerie.

As Victoria's Secret's star fades, many are speculating that Savage X Fenty will be taking over the once-powerful lingerie empire. While the latter continues to struggle with diversity and completely ignores the plus size market, Rihanna's brand is embracing the humanity of women and pushing a message of confidence and inclusivity. VS better step it up!

Savage X Fenty is already available worldwide. See more looks from the runway below.
