From archival obsessions to leather-and-sparkle contrasts, the creative shares how her personal style fits into the Miu Miu universe.

As Paris Fashion Week finally comes to a close, Miu Miu made sure to end the week on a high note. For the house&rsquo;s Fall/Winter 2026 show, Miuccia Prada unveiled her latest collection to a packed room of editors, fashion insiders, and devoted fans of the Prada&ndash;Miu Miu universe. Among them was Tanya Ravichandran, who took her seat in the front row for her very first Miu Miu show.
For Ravichandran, the moment felt especially full circle. The creative&mdash;who once studied computer science&mdash;has long been a devoted admirer of the Prada&ndash;Miu Miu world, not just as a fan but as a passionate archival collector. Seeing Miuccia Prada&rsquo;s work come to life on the runway was the kind of fashion moment every collector dreams about. 
Ravichandran&rsquo;s grungier personal style also fits right into the spirit of the Miu Miu girl, who she describes as &ldquo;an aspirational weird girl who approaches dressing and her life authentically.&rdquo; For the show, she leaned into contrast, pairing darker leather textures with sparkling embellishments for a look that felt both rebellious and playful. As she puts it, &ldquo;I like exploring that contrast in how I dress, mixing the darker sensibility I&rsquo;m drawn to with the playfulness and unpredictability that defines the Miu Miu universe.&rdquo;
Ahead of the show, Ravichandran took L'OFFICIEL along as she got ready, opening up about the archival pieces she treasures most, the philosophy behind building a meaningful fashion collection, and why authenticity will always win over chasing trends. L'OFFICIEL: This is your first Miu Miu show&mdash;how does it feel? Were you already an admirer of the brand?
TANYA RAVICHANDRAN: It was my dream to attend. I never thought that I, the girl who grew up in Silicon Valley, studying computer science, would one day leave that path behind and be here. I&rsquo;ve long been obsessed with the Prada&ndash;Miu Miu universe. As an archival collector of the brand, it&rsquo;s surreal to see Miuccia in person, to witness another show from a designer who has shaped fashion for nearly five decades. To also experience her work not through archives or photographs, but in the moment it&rsquo;s born, is something I&rsquo;ll never take for granted.
L'O: Does your typical style or aesthetic fit into Miu Miu&rsquo;s sartorial codes, or are you approaching it differently today?
TR: Something I admire is that the Miu Miu girl is this multifaceted girl with all these hobbies, often not fashion-related. She&rsquo;s an aspirational weird girl who approaches dressing and her life authentically. That&rsquo;s very much how I try to live and dress as well.
The unconventional elegance the house leans into, this tension between girlhood and rebellion, resonates deeply with me. I&rsquo;ve always been drawn to pieces that feel a little intellectual, a little offbeat, and full of personality. Collecting and wearing these clothes becomes a way of expressing that curiosity and individuality, rather than simply following fashion.

L'O: Who or what are you channeling with your outfit for the show? Is there a particular inspiration or vibe you&rsquo;re going for?
TR: I&rsquo;m leaning into the contrast that I love about Miu Miu. My personal style tends to gravitate toward darker, slightly grunge textures, especially leather, which is why I&rsquo;m wearing a leather apron underneath. But layered over it is the sparkly, embellished piece, which introduces a kind of playful irreverence. That tension between something tougher and something almost girlish or decorative feels very Miu Miu to me. It reflects the idea that the Miu Miu girl isn&rsquo;t one thing: she&rsquo;s a bit messy, curious, and multifaceted. I like exploring that contrast in how I dress, mixing the darker sensibility I&rsquo;m drawn to with the playfulness and unpredictability that defines the Miu Miu universe.

L'O: You have an incredible archive of clothing from so many brands. If you had to choose a favorite piece among them, what would it be? And do you have any tips for someone starting to build a collection like yours?
TR: My favorite piece is actually my Prada mirror coat and skirt from Spring/Summer 1999. Even though it&rsquo;s not Miu Miu, it still belongs to the same Miuccia universe, which is what I&rsquo;m most drawn to. It&rsquo;s such a special piece to me because it captures that intellectual, slightly surreal elegance that defines her work. My number one tip for anyone starting a collection is: learn as much as you can!!!! You really have to research the brands you love, the designers, their history, the collections, and the context around the clothes. Fill yourself with as much knowledge as you can about the brand. I have a personal philosophy that I can&rsquo;t purchase a vintage designer piece unless I know as much as I can about that piece and the designer who made it. Otherwise, I don&rsquo;t feel like I deserve to own it. And practically speaking, the more knowledge you have, the better you get at knowing exactly what to search for and how to find it.

L'O: Who would be your dream person to sit next to at a fashion show?
TR: Isabella Blow. I don&rsquo;t even fully know why&hellip;there&rsquo;s just something about her presence and her way of seeing fashion that feels so magnetic to me. She had this rare ability to recognize genius early and champion designers before the world caught up. Sitting next to someone with that kind of instinct and curiosity about fashion would be incredible.
L'O: Is there a fashion trend you&rsquo;re absolutely loving right now, and is there one you&rsquo;re not so into?
TR: I love seeing people really start to discover their personal style and dig deeper into fashion archives. There&rsquo;s something exciting about watching people become curious about the history of brands and collections, and building wardrobes that feel thoughtful rather than disposable. As for trends I&rsquo;m not into&hellip; I don&rsquo;t know if we&rsquo;re past trends, but I do think people can look really out of place when they try to dress like someone they&rsquo;re not. The most compelling style always comes from authenticity.
