Cher, Normani, and More Star in the 2022 Pirelli Calendar
'80s heartthrob Bryan Adams puts down the microphone and picks up the camera to photograph some of music's most talented ladies for this year's photoshoot.
Every year, the Pirelli Calendar presents artistic shots of some of the top figures in fashion and pop culture. This year, the calendar enlisted singer Bryan Adams to step behind the camera and capture a group of this generation's hottest musicians for the 2022 Pirelli Calendar titled "On the Road." Major artists like Cher, Grimes, Jennifer Hudson, Normani, Rita Ora, Bohan Phoenix, Iggy Pop, St. Vincent, and Kali Uchis were photographed in various locales across Los Angeles from the open streets to Palace Theatre and the Chateau Marmont, while Adams shot "Tap In" rapper Saweetie at the Hotel La Scalinatella in Capri, Italy.
Each photo represents a moment of tour life, from waking up in the morning to enjoying a leisurely moment at the hotel pool. Discussing the overall theme of the calendar, Adams explains, “On the road is where I have been for the last 45 years, because the life of a musician is made up of roads, travel, waiting in hotels, hours back stage."
While the calendar will not be officially released until November of this year, Pirelli offered L'OFFICIEL an array of backstage photos from the set to tease the upcoming release. Last year, the Pirelli Calendar halted production in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like the musicians featured in the calendar, 2022 marks its return to the spotlight as production on photoshoots and concerts ramp up again for the coming year.
