Between Ariana Grande's polka dot perfection and Sabrina Carpenter's risque naked dress, pop culture fiends were spoiled this year when it came to red carpet looks.&nbsp;

Though MTV's <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/rose-mcgowan-sheer-chainmail-dress-vmas-1998" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Video Music Awards</a> are always a buzzy beacon of celebrity style, music, and pop culture moments, this year's awards ceremony was especially highly anticipated, thanks to fan-favorite nominees and major musical performances.&nbsp;
Sabrina Carpenter, joined onstage by iconic contestants from RuPaul's Drag Race,&nbsp;sang hit song "<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/sabrina-carpenter-mans-best-friend-album-tears-music-video" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tears</a>" from her latest album,&nbsp;Man's Best Friend, much to the delight of viewers in the room and at home. In other major VMAs moments, Mariah Carey performed, Ice Spice and Latto presented together, and Ros&eacute; became the first <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/cortis-kpop-group-debut-music-album-members-facts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">K-pop</a> artist to win Song of the Year in the award show's history&mdash;plus, Ariana Grande was spotted hugging both Lady Gaga and Sabrina Carpenter (much to the jealousy of everyone at home).&nbsp;
On the red carpet, all of our favorite stars pulled up in top-tier looks, setting the bar high for the awards season to come. Doja Cat arrived in a pastel-toned Balmain frock, sporting voluminous old Hollywood blonde curls, while girl group Katseye donned Dolce &amp; Gabbana head to toe. Latto proved that metallic tones are here to stay as a leading fashion trend this season, as she stunned on the carpet in a vintage, glistening gold gown designed by <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/gianni-versace-fashion-signatures-designer-history-medusa-bondage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gianni Versace</a> himself. Speaking of vintage, Ice Spice wore a Ralph Lauren corest top and plaid skirt from the designer's Spring/Summer 2003 collection.&nbsp;
In the menswear department, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/olivia-rodrigo-birthday-party-tate-mcrae-louis-partridge" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Conan Gray</a> wore a nautical-inspired Erik Charlotte gown&mdash;accentuated by a delicate corset, voluminous petticoats, and stark-white ruffled sleeves&mdash;and newcomer <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/sombr-musician-songs-real-name-tour" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sombr</a>, also known as Shane Michael Boose, wore an embroidered Valentino suit from the label's Resort 2026 collection.&nbsp;
In terms of Internet stars, the 2025 VMAs carpet offered the chance for more than a few to strut their stuff. Love Island USA darlings Olandria Carthen and Nicolas Vansteenberghe walked the carpet, alongside influencer icon <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/alix-earle-pantene-drugstore-haircare-revival-tik-tok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alix Earle</a>.&nbsp;
