Since the official opening of the Academy Museum in 2021, the museum has held a grand dinner every year to honor those on and off stage who have made important contributions to the film industry. The 2023 Academy Museum Gala took place in Los Angeles on December 3 and was as star-studded as last year. Celebrities were carefully dressed in their best red carpet looks, giving us a preview of what we can expect as award show season gears up in the new year. Billie Eilish's dressing style has always been avant-garde and unconventional, but for this occasion, she opted for something more demure but still unexpected. Following the recent MoMA event earlier this year, she once again hit the red carpet in a Chanel look, wearing a lacy black dress with a V-shaped backless design.

Actress Gemma Chan chose a long sequined evening combat coat from Louis Vuitton. In addition to the side slits, this skirt also has a semi-see-through design below the thigh.&nbsp;

Greta Lee in Loewe

The Morning Show star Greta Lee was recently selected by Loewe as the spokesperson for its new Aire Anthesis fragrance. So it's no shock that she attended the gala in a custom look from one of this year's hottest brands. The eye-catching red strapless dress featured oversized bishop sleeves for that exaggerated effect.

Natalie Portman appeared on the red carpet in an elegant black and gold gown courtesy of Dior boasting embroidered floral motifs&mdash;a signature for the House.
