Fans of Altuzarra’s sensual yet classy aesthetic have something to celebrate, as the brand has announced a new ‘Play’ bag. Named for its mischievous look that plays with contrast, it pairs an organic silhouette with bondage-inspired metal buckles for a bag that feels at once timeless and provocative.

Creative director Joseph Altuzarra has been developing the ‘Play’ bag for the last two years, and his hard work finally hits the market today.  The new release fits with the New York-based Parisian’s message of sensual female empowerment that has helped him to become one of fashion’s most sought-after creative directors. Altuzarra’s vision of a brand that speaks to femininity and reflects fashion’s transformative influence now manifests as a suggestive bag that’s still probably safe for work.

Altuzarra first launched handbags in 2015, with the ‘Espadrille’ Tote becoming a favorite amongst women. The lighthearted new ‘Play’ bag is dainty and chic; casual, yet undeniably Altuzarra. Despite the hobo design, with its adjustable straps and tasseled fringe, the bag still beautifully models the label’s essence, seductive yet sophisticated in its versatility. It allows the wearer to conveniently pull their outfit together for anything from rolling out of bed for the gym to enjoying girls’ night out in a killer look.

“Women are looking for a bag that can do a lot for them, said Altuzarra of his eclectic concept, which resembles his goal with his clothing. “That’s a big part of what I cherish about the process we have with the clothing and I wanted that spirit in the bag.”

The bag is available on Altuzarra’s website beginning today, and will also be at his Madison Avenue pop-up shop, opening February 1 as a celebration of the brand’s 10-year anniversary.
