Ami Opens First U.S. Store in New York City
The French fashion house's latest storefront is located on SoHo's Greene Street.
Ami is opening its first American flagship in New York City. Located at 77 Greene Street in SoHo, the bourgeois space includes an array of menswear, womenswear, and accessories from the French fashion house.
“We are thrilled to inaugurate our SoHo store. New York is the new retail frontier for Ami," said Ami CEO Nicolas Santi-Weil. "This is an exciting challenge, and the perfect time for us to increase our market on the North American continent."
Designed by founder and creative director Alexandre Mattiussi himself, the interior of Ami's latest brick-and-mortar store features large mirrors, a metallic mesh ceiling, and other striking design elements that combine the brand's relaxed, yet luxurious aesthetic with elements of American style.
In celebration of the opening of its first U.S. storefront, Ami is debuting its second collection for Ami de Couer in collaboration with New York artist Kevin Lyons. The limited-edition capsule collection consists of unisex hoodies and T-shirts with Lyons' signature monster illustrations on the front.
“Kevin Lyons shares with Ami the values of love, friendship, and inclusion. His art is rich, fun, inspirational, and iconic, and I appreciate the way Kevin combines the unique vibe of New York City with Ami’s spirit," Mattiussi said. "Opening in Manhattan is a longtime dream and an incredible opportunity: this collaboration with Kevin is the best possible way to celebrate this milestone in Ami’s story."
The Ami SoHo store will open its doors on December 7, and the Ami de Coeur capsule collection by Kevin Lyons will only be available at the SoHo location and on amiparis.com/us.
