Remembering Amy Winehouse and Her Iconic Original Style

With one of the most instantly recognizable voices of our time, overflowing with power and emotion, Amy Winehouse is a universally beloved figure. Nearly ten years since her tragic passing, as we come up on what would have been the artist's 37th birthday, we are honoring the icon by celebrating some of her unforgettable fashion moments and quintessential style. She was a true original. 

Only Winehouse could pull off clashing patterns plaid and leopard print brought together by a chunky black belt, of course. 

In celebration of the late political leader Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday, Winehouse performed on stage along fellow musical icons in London, her elegant black and cream cocktail dress perfeclty complemented by her "MOM" hair accessory. 

In this sparkly, sequined navy number, Winehouse channeled her best "Girl from Ipanema" beachy mermaid look, complete with cocktail umbrellas in her beehive hairdo.

Winning a record-breaking five Grammys in 2008, Winehouse gave an unforgettable performance via satellite in a Dolce & Gabbana LBD, of course. 

Donning bright, colorful hair accessories and a yellow ruched dress to perform in Rio, Winehouse brought vibrance in her look as well as her performance. 

This off-duty look captures Winehouse's take on preppy style elements, brought into her more casual, dressed down sense of personal style.

A visceral performer, Winehouse often added flowers to her hair for performances, in addition to accessorizing with her classic gold chains.

Switching up her hairdo from the beehive to space buns, Winehouse was quite the trendsetter in this leather look.

Modeling for the collection, Winehouse looks uniquely chic and totally her in the chunky belt, signature hairstyle, and a good ol' pair of platform patent pumps. 

A rare pink look, Winehouse stuns in this bold and beautiful mini and matching animal print clutch at the premiere of Psychosis, directed by then boyfriend Reg Traviss. 

Preppy with an edge, Winehouse is pictured hanging out in London in her signature style looking like she came straight out of her Fred Perry collab. 

Another black and white look with a pop of red, Winehouse always carried iconic motifs throughout her style, making it distinctly her own.
