The Editions is an Ode to the Designer’s Iconic Pieces

Azzedine Alaïa’s carefully-tailored womenswear and perforated leather accessories made him a favorite among fashion editors, public figures, and connoisseurs of luxury alike. To commemorate the late designer’s legacy, his eponymous house, Maison Alaïa, is releasing a 30-look fashion tribute named The Editions.

The unexpected passing of Alaïa in late 2017 was an immense loss for the fashion community. The Tunision-born designer was a well-respected figure in the industry, a humble and hardworking couturier who was loyal both to the insiders he worked closely with and his international fanbase.

For Myriam Serrano, Alaïa’s new chief executive officer, keeping the designer’s legacy alive through his work is top priority. The archival picks re-produced for The Editions will follow original fabric and construction specifications, and even include QR codes on the hangtags that link to online storytelling about Mr. Alaïa.

The Editions will launch in November at global pop-up retailers and e-tailers.
