Backstage at Anna Sui Fall 2018

Anna Sui’s Fall 2018 show was a tribute to all things retro—specifically through the lens of a Detroit teenager who grew up dreaming about fashion. Floral prints, swingy dresses, scarlet hued tights and midi length printed dresses covered in plush colorful furs and bold coats fit for a magpie were all part of the designer’s latest collection. It wasn’t far from the bohemian dream vision she usually expresses. Aptly titled “Beloved,” Sui told the press that the collection was about what she dreamed of, before she came to New York.

Of course, for a serious dramatic flair the dynamic duo of Gigi and Bella Hadid opened the runway show, and closed it with Kaia Gerber walking immediately before the two. Twirls and spins on the runway made the whimsical, colorful collection a little more vivid under the runway lights. Sui also collaborated with Levi’s on the runway, which came in the form of corduroy blazers and pants.
