Bella Hadid Puts Her Spin on the Suede Obsession With Fringed Valentino
The supermodel channeled Carrie Bradshaw as she stepped out with her $2,690 accessory of choice.
Bella Hadid stepped out in New York City on Saturday sporting an eye-catching ensemble. She channeled the horse girl look and, with her handbag, put a twist on one of this season’s most sought-after materials: suede.
The Orebella founder sported a fringe-clad shoulder bag from Valentino's Resort 2025 collection, made under Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s buzzy tenure at the Italian fashion house. Hadid’s new $2,690 accessory from Valentino Garavani, dubbed the Nellcôte bag, reflects her growing love of western style—a look she’s been leaning into more since dating her wrangler boyfriend, Adan Banuelos.
She paired her fresh-off-the-runway fringe handbag perfectly with a sleek, black Rosetta Getty top, cowboy boots, and equestrian-themed trousers by Chloé. The vintage pants, which feature a horse print, debuted on the runway for the label's Spring/Summer 2001 collection and were later worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in her role as Carrie Bradshaw in a Season 4 episode of Sex and the City. Last year, Olivia Rodrigo revived the horse girl look, wearing a similar pair for the Billboard Women in Music Awards. Now, Hadid carries the baton.
Hadid's embrace of suede comes as no surprise, as the it's experiencing a resurgence as this season’s must-have material. Sure, suede is cold-weather classic, but just like other fabrics like corduroy, it can fall out of fashion. The soft textured material is back now, offering a renewed way to accessorize and layer cozy looks. Its versatility is supreme, inviting every wearer a chance to let their personal interpretation shine through.
