LFW: All the Best Looks From the Runways
L'OFFICIEL celebrates 40 years of London Fashion Week with a look at the best designers had to offer on the Fall/Winter 2024 runways.
This year, LFW hit a milestone anniversary, and what better way to celebrate 40 years of iconic British fashion than with a week highlighting all the best and brightest designers? LFW hosted a wealth of young, up-and-coming designers and established British fashion houses alike, with world-renowned labels like Burberry showing alongside rising stars like Paolo Carzana—recent LVMH prize semi-finalist—Susan Fang, and Aaron Esh, with the latter two hailing from Central Saint Martins as recent alumni.
As per LFW tradition, Burberry closed the historic week with a monumental runway show in a grand tent, reminiscent of the memorable venue where the very first LFW took place. Always the epitome of British fashion, the Burberry show featured iconic London-born supermodel Naomi Campbell, and models strode down the runway to ballads by the beloved Amy Winehouse.
After making her design debut with Jean Paul Gaultier earlier this year at Spring/Summer 2024 Haute Couture Week in Paris, all eyes were on Simone Rocha, who delivered the third and final installment of her three-part cycle, which took the form of a haunting, Gothic-inspired runway show rife with delicate sheer organza pieces, faux fur accents, and layered tulle pieces, and of course, the designer's signature bow detailing. Designers like JW Anderson, Molly Goddard, and Marques Almeida, who returned to the LFW calendar for the first time since 2020, were also in the spotlight this season after presenting pieces that toyed with concepts ranging from cozy knits to playful patterns to romantic layers of tulle.
Without further ado, join L'OFFICIEL in exploring some of the best looks from the LFW runways.
