Scandinavian design has always been synonymous with the contemporary, and this season's biggest culmination of Nordic fashion is no different. Copenhagen Fashion Week celebrated the region's propensity for forward-thinking, featuring a slew of talented designers with an eye for the modern dresser.

On each runway, designers found a harmonious way to incorporate avant-garde aspirations with wearable silhouettes. Finnish brand Marimekko's relatively new creative director found fresh interpretations for the brand's signature splashy prints, while Saks Potts kept fans satisfied with its knack for artistic '90s minimalism. Broaden your appreciation for Scandi design with L'OFFICIEL's favorite brands from Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024.

Stine Goya

Eponymous label Stine Goya is not your every day "Scandi style" brand. Going beyond the expected "Scandi girl" aesthetic of minimalist silhouettes and neutral colors, Stine Goya adds a bold flair, opting for playful (yet practical) designs, standout pieces, and vivacious prints.

Ganni

Celebrity-loved brand Ganni is known for its celebration of whimsy, be it in the form of bright colors, interesting textiles, or exciting patterns. However, the wearability of the brand is what makes it such a perfect example of Scandi style—colorful, but effortlessly chic.

Bold and cheerful, Baum und Pferdgarten makes a statement with its rainbow array of colors, mesmerizing patterns, and penchant for color blocking. The brand was founded in Copenhagen in 1999 by a duo of female creative directors, Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave.

Marimekko

Famous for its splashy poppy print, Marimekko is a master of larger-than-life patterns. The Finnish brand is helmed by Creative Director Rebekka Bay, Danish Rebekka Bay who formerly designed for Gap, Uniqlo, Everlane, and H&M brand Cos. Bay's debut collection stayed true to the brand's iconic graphic prints, underscored by clean shapes.

Saks Potts

With A-list clientele including Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid, Copenhagen-based brand Saks Potts is a label well worth knowing. Taking inspiration from all facets of the Danish capital, the brand gives a modern spin to '90s minimalism, upholding timeless silhouettes with impeccable tailoring that's styled with unique proportions and layers. The designs are both playful and sophisticated, fitting for the contemporary woman.
