Carey Mulligan is the latest Prada campaign star.

The English actor fronts the Italian luxury brand's Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, which spans a moody series of imagery all about personal experimentation. Lensed by none other than legendary American fashion photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign unfolds through a series of portraits where Mulligan takes on a diverse array of characters. She becomes increasingly unrecognizable with each transformation. Every unique persona boasts a different style and energy, offering many interpretations of who the Prada wearer is.

The campaign's corresponding Spring/Summer 2025 collection was all about the digital world and individuality. "Basically it seems that we are directed by algorithms, so anything we like and anything we know is because other people are instilling it into us," Miuccia Prada, co-creative director alongside Raf Simons, told Vogue backstage at the show. The duo revealed an eclectic collection, heavily touched by an internet aesthetic. Spring/Summer 2025 is a study in both personal and artistic expression, inviting audiences to engage with fashion as a reflection of ever-shifting realities. Mulligan, who starred in the 2023 biopic Maestro, mirrors this feeling in the campaign through her embodiment of so many characters.

The new 2025 campaign, dubbed "Acts Like Prada," was also created with the intent of being a direct reference to its Fall/Winter 2021 campaign, named "Feels Like Prada." That campaign, a mid-pandemic production shot by David Sims, similarly explored narratives of identity. Mulligan, acclaimed for her ability to shift between complex roles seamlessly, made the perfect canvas for the new experimental campaign, showing how clothing can alter perceptions and attitudes—not only of the wearer but also of those observing.
