Carla Bruni was born on December 23, 1967, in Turin, Italy, and spent time as a teen studying in Paris, where she focused her academics in art and architecture. One could say that she was destined to pursue a career in music given that she is the daughter of a famed Italian concert pianist and a classical music composer, but at 19 years old, a young Bruni decided to pursue modeling and found favor with major French and Italian labels like Christian Dior, Chanel, and Versace. By the end of the '90s, she was one of the highest-paid models in the industry, earning $7.5 million in 1998. However, her passion for the arts and music was still part of her life.
She went on to release a debut album called Quelqu\'un m\'a dit which became an immediate hit in France. Her musical career exploded and she eventually released another album called No Promises. In the fall of 2007, Bruni met French president Nicolas Sarkozy, they married, and she became the First Lady of France. The pair share a daughter, Giulia, while Bruni is also the mother of Aurélien Enthoven, her son from a previous relationship.
