The fashion house celebrated their 10 year anniversary with a show at the Copenhagen Fashion Week.&nbsp;

Cecilie Bahnsen is marking the triumphant feat of 10 years in fashion with a show at the Copenhagen Fashion Week. On August 7, the capsule collection premiered at a show set on a post-industrial peninsula called the Refshale&oslash;en. The raw concrete expanse proved that everything about the show was intentional.&nbsp;
The collection was backed by a score by August Rosenbaum and complemented by the sounds of Beth Gibbons' soothing voice; the show was soft and airy, allowing for a sense of nostalgia. The soundtrack put the audience at ease, while the models brushed past each other with the same calm nature, creating a dreamlike, ever-changing atmosphere. It was a celebration of everything that <a href="https://ceciliebahnsen.com/">Cecilie Bahnsen</a> both is and was, and everything that it wants to be. The looks disappeared behind a subtle haze, leaving a shroud of mystery and unabashed curiosity in their wake.&nbsp;

&ldquo;There&rsquo;s something special about showing in Copenhagen,&rdquo; Bahnsen said. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s where everything began, and many of the people in the audience have been part of the journey since the start. That makes it feel intimate and emotional. For the show, we invited some guests to wear archive pieces. They become part of the living image. The show doesn&rsquo;t just happen in front of them, but around them. It&rsquo;s a way of saying thank you.&rdquo; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;
The show, titled Hana-bi, the Japanese word for fireworks and composed of the characters for "flower" and "fire," serves as a metaphor for duality, delicacy, and disruption. Between sculptural silhouettes formed with a touch of softness to moments of vulnerability flashing by ever so fast, the show is reminiscent of fireworks&mdash;the collection opening in a luminous white before shifting into silvers. "Every time I begin a new collection, I start with white," Bahnsen said. "It feels like a canvas."&nbsp;
The presentation included pieces both old and new, archival pulls, reorchestrated designs, one-off show pieces, and entirely new creations. It was a collage of moments in time for the brand, meant to celebrate it in its entirety&mdash;a display of success.&nbsp;
Following the show, some pieces were available for purchase directly from the runway, in addition to being available for made-to-order purchases. The collection will also be exhibited in Cecilie Bahnsen's newly opened Copenhagen boutique, where select items will be available to purchase via private appointment only. The collection is timeless yet possesses the ability to speak to current audiences. Cecilie Bahnsen's return to Copenhagen was incredibly special, and with a collection like Hana-bi, we will be left thinking about the brand for some time to come.
