18 Celebrity White House Correspondents' Dinner Looks We Can't Stop Thinking About
See all the ultra-chic looks that our favorite celebrities and style icons sported on the red carpet at the White House event.
While the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner doesn't typically generate the same level of media buzz and fan frenzy that major gatherings akin to Hollywood award shows and fashion events like the Met Gala do, this year's WHCA dinner was a star-studded event unlike years before.
Typically, the event is populated by White House employees, politicians, and of course, journalists, but high-profile guests also regularly dot the guest list. The WHCA traces its origins all the way back to 1921, when it was founded to uplift journalists, press correspondents, and photographers working with the White House.
This year's WHCA saw Colin Jost, writer and comedian of Saturday Night Live fame, as co-host alongside President Joe Biden. The two traded quips back and forth, although SNL fans noted that the comedian held back more than he typically does with his jokes. Ahead of this year's presidential election, Biden took the opportunity to direct several of his jokes toward his opponent. “The 2024 election’s in full swing and yes, age is an issue,” Biden said during his speech, “I’m a grown man running against a 6-year-old.”
Aside from the host of acclaimed journalists and reporters in attendance at the WHCA dinner, celebrities like Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Coco Rocha, Molly Ringwald, Billy Porter, Fran Drescher, and Rosario Dawson stunned on the red carpet. Just days after making headlines after revealing their relationship, Sophia Bush and her girlfriend Ashlyn Harris made their red carpet debut in glamorous color-coordinated looks, already proving their power couple status. In support of her husband, Colin Jost, and the WHCA, actress Scarlett Johansson showed up to the event in style, sporting a gorgeous white Giorgio Armani gown on the red carpet. To finish off her look, Johansson opted for a classic red lip and sleek blonde waves.
