Chloé Takes on Upcycling and Sustainable Denim for Cruise 2022
Creative Director Gabriela Hearst continues developing her sustainable vision for Chloé, introducing eco-conscious denim and upcycled looks.
The Chloé Cruise 2022 collection centers around sustainable, socio-environmental themes. As Creative Director Gabriela Hearst implements new measures to reduce the environmental impacts of the French fashion house, familiar elements appear in the collection in the form of textiles from past collections.
Denim is a highlight of this collection, in collaboration with Adriano Goldschmied, with pieces featuring mixed, upcycled constructions, as well as basic pieces for daily use made with technology for high durability, prolonging the lifetime of the garments.
Furthermore, 15 percent of the collection is being manufactured by the WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) in partnership with Made51, an initiative that helps refugee women from Afghanistan to preserve their textile heritage and supports fair working conditions.
Alongside the artistic colors and prints, precious techniques are implemented in accessories that boast handcrafted construction with touches of personalization and lightness.
Knitting, crochet, and embroidery are exhibited in the Cruise 2022 collection, interprested with a '70s influence, proving that the Age of Aquarius won't leave our wardrobes anytime soon.
