The designer has parted ways with the house just two days after its acquisition by the Prada Group.

Just months after unveiling his first collection for Versace as creative director, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/who-is-dario-vitale-versace-creative-director-fun-facts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dario Vitale</a> is understood to be departing the brand.&nbsp;
&ldquo;We would like to sincerely thank Dario for his outstanding contribution to the development of the brand&rsquo;s creative strategy during this transition period, and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavors,&rdquo; Versace said in a statement.
Versace has described Vitale's exit as a &ldquo;mutual decision&rdquo; with Prada Group.&nbsp;
Vitale was appointed to the helm of the label in March and put on one of the buzziest debut shows for the Spring/Summer 2026 season. After joining as creative director, he reportedly worked closely with Donatella Versace&mdash;who recently transitioned to a role as chief brand ambassador of the label after stepping down from her almost 30-year tenure as creative director.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Championing the next generation of designers has always been important to me,&rdquo; Donatella said in a statement at the time, expressing her enthusiasm for Vitale to join the team and take over for her starting April 1. &ldquo;I am thrilled that Dario Vitale will be joining us, and excited to see Versace through new eyes.&rdquo;
Prior to the announcement of Vitale's exit, the designer had been working with his team on a Fall/Winter 2026 collection for the label, to be shown during Milan Fashion Week in February.&nbsp;
As of Dec. 4, Vitale's successor as creative director of Versace has not been named, but the next figure to fill the role will be announced &ldquo;in due course.&rdquo; After Vitale officially exits the position on Dec. 12, the creative team will work under CEO Emmanuel Gintzburger.
