Rosalía Is Dior's New Global Ambassador And Face Of The Lady Dior Campaign

Dior recently announced its new global ambassador, the singer Rosalía. At the 2024 Met Gala, which embodied the theme "The Garden of Time," the Spanish singer showed off a black tulip Dior dress. The strapless dress, embellished with a wool and silk bustier and enriched with buttons and a waist strap, was tailor-made for Rosalía by the French fashion house helmed by Maria Grazia Chiuri. 

The intricate gown worn at the steps may have served as a teaser for the singer's eventual ambassadorship for the brand. Although the singer has had a good relationship with Dior for quite some time, she's sat in the front row of numerous shows, including their past Spring/Summer 2024 and Fall/Winter 2024 shows at Paris Fashion Week. 

Shot by Collier Schorr, the campaign shows Rosalía holding the iconic Lady Dior bag, with some pictures featuring a black and white filter on top. The Lady Dior bag, originally called the Chouchou, debuted in 1995 and was soon named after Princess Diana, as the bag's name pays homage to Diana's original title, Lady Diana Spencer. The late princess had a close relationship with the brand and was photographed at the 1996 Met Gala alongside Dior's former creative director, John Galliano. At the event, she was holding the purse while wearing a lace-trimmed slip dress from John Galliano's inaugural haute couture line. 

The new and reimagined bag featured in Rosalía includes new colors and charms, as seen below in the campaign images. 

Born just outside Barcelona in 1992, the singer conquered the world with her mix of flamenco and hyper-contemporary sounds. After winning two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, and one MTV Europe Music Award, she is now the global ambassador for Dior. And to inaugurate this collaboration, Rosalía is now the face of an advertising campaign dedicated to the iconic Lady Dior bag.
