Matières Fécales’ first bride turned wedding tradition into a moody, romantic fantasy.

Gabbriette did wear white on her wedding day—but not without unraveling the conventions that came with it. On July 18, the model married The 1975 frontman Matty Healy at a private estate in Los Angeles, embracing torn tulle, theatrical tailoring, and a touch of the uncanny across three custom looks that are unmistakably true to her fashion sensibility.
The couple has long shared a sartorial language of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/are-black-diamond-engagement-rings-the-next-celebrity-trend">dark, rock ’n’ roll glamour</a>, making Gabbriette’s approach to bridalwear a natural extension of her personal style. For her wedding wardrobe, she chose Matières Fécales, the avant-garde label founded by Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran. Known for redefining beauty through otherness, the brand combines meticulous craftsmanship with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/all-of-zendayas-press-looks-for-the-odyssey-press-tour-athena-goddess-dresses-hair-makeup-jewelry-earrings-method-dressing">silhouettes that are at once romantic and defiant</a>.
Gabbriette is Matières Fécales’ first bride, with the trio of custom creations marking the label’s debut in bridalwear. For her final fitting in Paris, she was joined by her mother, Chayo Bechtel, and her best friend, Bailey Quinone, as the three distinct looks for her wedding came together.

Her pre-wedding look, named “Leigh” after Gabbriette’s middle name, began with “something old”: a vintage Margiela black gown from her own collection. Matières Fécales reworked the piece with a stream of diaphanous white tulle that cascades from the slashed back. A pair of classic curved pumps by <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/louboutin-red-bottom-heels-comeback-trend">Christian Louboutin</a> for Matières Fécales perfects its already otherworldly effect.
The wedding gown, “Gabriella,” is a white silk-taffeta gown that reimagines the grandeur of Victorian bridalwear through the brand’s deconstructed lens. A tightly ruched bodice and sculpted hips give way to a voluminous skirt and sweeping triple bustle. Across the hem and train, deliberately distressed edges interrupt the gown’s stateliness, as though the dress has emerged hauntingly weathered from another era. A gauzy, floor-length veil created in collaboration with Stephen Jones and a pair of white tulle Louboutins complete the spectral silhouette.
The after-party calls for something no less theatrical. Named “Healy,” the look comprises a two-piece suit set in buttery lamb leather. Déchire tulle tumbles from the hips while wisps of Mongolian fur soften the cuffs and hems. A white satin riding hat by Stephen Jones and matching Louboutin curved heel pumps finish the transformation. Even after the gown comes off, the bride continues to stun in a striking fusion of equestrian elegance and gothic glamour.
