Harry Styles Stuns in His Second Gucci Campaign
Today's edition of breaking the internet is a wild one: in what feels straight out of an artsy teenager's fanfic, photos have surfaced of a new Gucci campaign featuring Harry Styles cradling piglets and lambs in a Renaissance-inspired setting.
Styles has been a Gucci ambassador since last year after favoring the brand for years, which has built hype as the artist has sported around 800 suits on his recent tour. Now he's on a break from traveling the world, so it was the perfect time for the Italian brand to enlist him for its Cruise 2019 campaign, posing the former One Direction member alongside baby animals for the second time to melt all the hearts on social media.
The campaign, shot by Glen Luchford, is set in the lush gardens of Villa Lante, a 16th-century estate north of Rome. Amidst greenery and Renaissance details, Styles poses in an array of pastel and printed pieces. Kimonos, bows, and tiger brooches shake up suiting, and in several photos, the musician rocks a subtle golden crown. The piglets and lambs may be the campaign's real stars, stealing the center of attention as they play and cuddle with their famous friend.
Renaissance inspiration and social media hype have proven to be a strangely successful combination for Gucci, a strategy they're also embracing with a new, artwork-filled beauty Instagram. Their collaboration with one of music's most eligible bachelors continues to have mutual benefits, as nothing makes the public squeal and shop like seeing Harry Styles promoting a maximalist aesthetic with an added cuteness factor. Here's hoping video of the shoot surfaces soon.
