L'OFFICIEL meets with actress and model Iris Law, the face of the new '80s-inspired La Perla collection that highlights the decade's liberated femininity.

On <a href="https://www.instagram.com/lirisaw/" target="_blank">Instagram</a>, Iris Law&#39;s unfiltered photos and personal snapshots garner tens of thousands of likes every day. The 20-year-old model, muse, and actress&mdash;as well as the daughter of British actors Jude Law and Sadie Frost, and the goddaughter of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/exclusive-kate-moss-photos-fashion-messika" target="_blank">Kate Moss</a>&mdash;uses her creativity and good-natured outlook&nbsp;to spread positivity to her followers. Ahead of&nbsp;her&nbsp;acting debut in an upcoming&nbsp;mini-series about the Sex Pistols directed by Danny Boyle (director of the films Transpotting and Slumdog Millionaire, among others), Law also asumes the role of muse for a&nbsp;new&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="https://us.laperla.com/" target="_blank">La Perla</a>&nbsp;collection.&nbsp;Inspired by the &#39;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/80s-hairstyles-for-2021-trends-mullet-curly-hair" target="_blank">80s</a> and the era&#39;s feminine power, the campaign is&nbsp;designed by women, for women and unveils just in time this <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/famous-firsts-womens-history-month" target="_blank">Women&#39;s History Month</a>. Here, L&#39;OFFICIEL speaks to&nbsp;Law about the special collection and what empowers the young talent.

L&#39;OFFICIEL: What was it like working with photographer Indigo Lewin on this&nbsp;<a href="https://fr.laperla.com" target="_blank">La Perla</a> campaign, unveiled during Women&#39;s History Month?

Iris Law: Working with Indigo was a dream! I love her work and the way she photographs women so beautifully. She ignores the framework of shooting for the male gaze, which aligns with the powerful designs of&nbsp;La&nbsp;Perla, which similarly empowers&nbsp;women and make them feel sexy for themselves.&nbsp;

 
L&#39;O: This capsule collection celebrates a decade that championed womanhood, the &#39;80s&mdash;how do you carry on that legacy ?

IL: I hope to be a positive role model to women. Being a woman is such a beautiful thing and embracing and allowing yourself to feel sexy is also an important part of that.&nbsp;La&nbsp;Perla&nbsp;was founded by a woman and has always been made with the aim of celebrating women and the female form,&nbsp;so I am really happy to be aligning myself with that ethos. &nbsp;

 
L&#39;O: How do the women in your life inspire you and how do you inspire them?

IL:&nbsp;The women in my life inspire me every day through their kindness and hard-working nature. I really like creating nice occasions to reunite or surprise my loved ones, so I hope I inspire my family and friends to value and make the most of each other.&nbsp;

I practice gratitude and don’t dwell on how I look, because that shouldn’t be the most important thing in life.

L&#39;O: Your voice on social media boasts a confidence that&rsquo;s so unique to you&mdash;what do you do to empower yourself or to feel your most confident? 

IL: I practice gratitude and don&rsquo;t dwell on how I look, because that shouldn&rsquo;t be the most important thing in life. I try to focus more on what I&rsquo;m doing in my life or for others.

 
L&#39;O: Who are your &#39;80s fashion and / or music icons and why?

IL:&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/terry-barber-makeup-artist-nostalgic-beauty-trends" target="_blank">Grace Jones</a> and Leigh Bowery are the epitome of revolutionary fashion icons. They weren&rsquo;t scared to take risks.&nbsp;I&rsquo;ve seen some amazing photos of Grace wearing&nbsp;La&nbsp;Perla&nbsp;in the &#39;80s and she just oozes confidence and empowered femininity.&nbsp;Molly Ringwald is also a true &#39;80s icon&mdash;I love her effortlessness and full lips.

 
L&#39;O: What are your favorite pieces from this capsule collection?

IL: My favorite pieces are the corsets. I can&rsquo;t wait to wear them with a little skirt or trousers. It&rsquo;s great how a lot of the pieces in the collection are really versatile. You can wear them as lingerie but also as ready-to-wear, pairing them with something else in your own wardrobe. It allows you to experiment!
