Jimmy Choo's New Capsule is Hollywood Meets Paris
Fashion month may be over as the world currently enjoys a period of Halloween spirit and cozy fall dressing, but it won't be long before it's time to dress up again, with art galas, holiday parties, and awards season fast approaching. If you already have an invite to one of the above or even just foresee it on the horizon, chances are you're already beginning to search for the perfect outfit, and just when you finally settle upon something, you'll need to find accessories to complete the look. Jimmy Choo's new red carpet-inspired capsule may be the perfect solution to this, comprising artsy yet classic styles that are ready for any event this coming fall and winter.
The capsule, which launched today in collaboration with Net-a-Porter, features ten shoes and three bags. The styles stay versatile by sticking to black, but the collection is far from homogeneous, as details like feathers, lace, and crystals create unique looks for each piece. Those looking to fit a piece into their regular fall wardrobe can do so via ankle boots featuring a thin strap of sparkle, and it's also easy to bring an exaggerated feminine touch to any evening look since several pieces center around exaggerated bows. Collection images show the shoes and bags in picturesque locations around Paris like the Eiffel Tower, an outdoor café, and a bridge over the Seine, but despite their effortless ability to assimilate into the French fashion sphere, the products take a great deal of their inspiration from the Hollywood glamour that defines awards season.
"The collection was inspired by the confidence and glamour leading ladies exude when walking the red carpet, mixed with the idea of fantasy," creative director Sandra Choi explains of the concept. "Celebrities play an important role in bringing the brand’s fantasy element and fairytale transformation to life. We referenced lots of women over the years and what they were wearing to the Black Tie Balls. Each style has a feminity, seductiveness, and the finesse of couture."
With the red carpet providing the literal inspiration for the capsule's concept, it's now easier than ever to feel like a movie star at your next formal event. While there's no word yet on whether any stars will include the new accessories in their awards season looks, the black Net-a-Porter van is sure to be busy carting around these Jimmy Choo creations for the rest of 2019, helping the fashion set to bring together all their last-minute ensembles.
