Kanye West's Yeezy Gap Announces New Collaboration 'Engineered by Balenciaga'
Kanye West has just announced one of this year's most anticipated fashion collaborations.
In another internet-breaking move, Kanye West is conquering the world of fashion.
On Friday, Ye announced that his longtime collaboration Yeezy Gap will now partner with designer Demna on a new collection "Engineered by Balenciaga." On Instagram, the rapper posted a copy of a legal document that confirm the collaboration between the three brands.
In a statement, Yeezy Gap said, “this first of its kind launch sees Ye’s peerless vision bring together the most influential designer of his generation, Demna, with iconic American brand, Gap.”
After a number of collaborations with brands like Adidas, Ye inked a 10-year deal with Gap in May 2021, securing the joint brand Yeezy Gap as a singular entity led by designer Mowalola Ogunlesi.
While promoting his latest album Donda over the summer, the artist began working with Demna to reinvent his own wardrobe and develop the utilitarian couture style that is currently defining this new chapter in his career.
This new collaboration between Yeezy Gap and Balenciaga not only feeds into the latter's recent moves to make upscale Parisian fashion more accessible to the everyday American shopper but also allows Ye's fans to enjoy his unique personal style for themselves.
The Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga collection is expected to launch later this year.
