The first of many "Louis Vuitton Voyager Shows," the Pre-Fall 2024 collection playfully incorporated local artistry into Ghesqui&egrave;re's futuristic style.

On April 18, at the Long Museum West Bund in Shanghai, Nicolas Ghesqui&egrave;re debuted <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/celebrities-at-louis-vuitton-pre-fall-2024-cate-blanchett-jennifer-connelly" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Louis Vuitton's Pre-Fall 2024 collection</a> featuring playful designs and innovative silhouettes. Though Ghesqui&egrave;re led his first destination show for the brand at the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/louis-vuitton-pre-fall-2023-seoul-runway-looks-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pre-Fall 2023 show</a> in Seoul last year, this event is set to be the first of many&nbsp; "<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/louis-vuitton-fall-winter-2024-pfw-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Louis Vuitton</a> Voyager Shows," a new umbrella term for the brand's pre-fall and cruise collection showcases around the world. The House's choice to debut in the Chinese city not only paid homage to the country's heritage and creativity but underpinned the brand's global influence in the luxury fashion space.
For this collection, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/nicolas-ghesquiere-louis-vuitton-artistic-director-contract-renewed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ghesqui&egrave;re</a> merged his futuristic style with the work of local Chinese creatives, namely supermodel Chu Wong and artist Sun Yitian. For the show's soundtrack, Wong remixed her single "Bad Kiss N Dreams" with Woodkid Music and Yitian collaborated to draw cartoon-like animals for select pieces which opened the show, according to WWD. Among the most notable of Yitian design's were the tiger, seen on a pastel pink car coat, and the hot pink bunny with LV fleur de lys for eyes, printed on a green shift dress.
Following these lively initial looks came an array of florals, which both juxtaposed outdoorsy pieces, like utility-vests and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/how-to-wear-bermuda-shorts-street-style-bella-hadid-kendall-jenner" target="_blank" rel="noopener">baggy bermuda shorts</a>, and complemented feminine pieces, like leg-of-mutton sleeved dresses and ruffled skirts. As the outfits became more muted, shifting into black, white and silver, the silhouettes became more voluminous, integrating peplum shirts, broad <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/how-to-style-blazers-celebrity-kaia-gerber-hailey-bieber" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blazers</a> and bubble dresses. Imaginative and larger-than-life, the collection was yet another Ghesqui&egrave;re masterpiece.
