We Are Obsessed With Rihanna's Latest Rock-Influenced Look
Is a rock-inspired album in the works?
Rihanna has never been afraid to embrace edgy fashion, so why would she stop now? While seen out and about this weekend in Los Angeles, the singer wore a Metallica t-shirt, pictured with all four members of the band, that read “And Justice For All," referencing the rock band's hit album and eponymous single. The "Where Have You Been?" singer paired the ultra-cool t-shirt with grungy tear-away pants from The Attico, making for a comfortable and practical outfit. The leather boots, along with the opulant faux leopard coat from Bottega Veneta, gave the look its awe-worthy appeal, as Rihanna looked effortlessly chic in the casual but put-together rocker chic ensemble.
Rihanna has been seen fashioning a myriad of laid-back and trendy outfits as of late. When the singer debuted her blonde chop, she employed a look that Vogue deemed the rich grandma aesthetic. Complete with a sensible cardigan, a relaxed blouse, baggy jeans, and chic kitten heels, in addition to an eye-catching crystal brooch, Rihanna deviated from the uber-glamorous style we usually know her for and decided to air on the side of comfort. There's nothing wrong with a cozy look, of course; in fact, Rihanna's recent style is a welcome addition to her style evolution. Last Wednesday, the singer employed a similarly comfy outfit that featured a mock-neck maxi dress along with an oversized jacket; however, the star of the show was definitely her chic '60s-inspired beehive, marking another cool celebrity hair transformation.
For years, fans have speculated that the singer will be announcing a new album soon. In a 2019 interview with Vogue, the singer hinted at her next album being reggae-inspired.
“Reggae always feels right to me. It’s in my blood. It doesn’t matter how far or long removed I am from that culture or my environment that I grew up in; it never leaves. It’s always the same high. Even though I’ve explored other genres of music, it was time to go back to something that I haven’t really honed in on completely for a body of work,” Rihanna said.
However, with these edgy looks surfacing from the singer, perhaps a rock-influenced theme could be on the horizon? We'll just have to wait and find out.
