First released in 1975, the movie musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show is officially the longest-running theatrical release of all time. For fifty years, fans of the ultimate glam-rock dreamscape have been dressing up in corsets, fishnets, and feather boas for midnight screenings of the cult classic, undoubtedly helping shape the evolution of punk fashion. Actress Patricia Quinn, an original West End cast member who reprised the role of Magenta in the film, has even claimed that Costume Designer Sue Blane invented punk. "Down the road was Vivienne Westwood with her shop Sex, and she thinks she started punk, but she just copied us," Quinn said in a 2000 interview. Now, just in time for the premiere of a 4K Ultra remaster this fall, designers from Nina Ricci's Harris Reed and Valentino's Alessandro Michele to Simone Rocha and Rick Owens have turned out fresh riffs on seductive fluidity that would make Frank-N-Furter proud.&nbsp;

First released on September 26, 1975, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is marking its golden anniversary with a full slate of celebrations. Fans will gather in Los Angeles on September 27 for a special convention featuring appearances from the original cast, while a newly restored 4K version of the film makes its way into theaters throughout October. A 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the soundtrack arrives October 10, pressed on striking 180g red-in-gold vinyl. But for home entertainment devotees, the most anticipated release is the 4K Blu-ray edition, officially launching October 7.
