"French Water," directed by Jim Jarmusch, stars <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/serge-gainsbourg-jane-birkin-love-affair" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Charlotte Gainsbourg</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/indya-moore-trans-activism-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indya Moore</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/julianne-moore-gloria-bell-actress-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Julianne Moore</a>, and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/chloe-sevigny-secret-wedding-husband" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chlo&euml; Sevigny</a> as a group of dinner party guests leaving their gathering, while <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/how-quarantine-built-tiktok-celebrities-charli-damelio-addison-rae" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a> star/musician <a href="https://www.thecut.com/2020/05/who-is-leo-reilly-john-c-reillys-singer-son.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leo Reilly</a> (a.k.a. LoveLeo) plays a waiter offering the group glasses of water. "It's French," he explains.</span></p>
      <p><span>As the departing women scour the building in search of each other, Reilly notes with confusion their numerous sudden wardrobe changes. The mysterious Gainsbourg continues to vanish and reappear, adding to the surrealist portrait of her role. </span><span>In one scene, she picks up a copy of <em>Tales of Edgar Allen Poe</em> and reads a quote: "They who dream by day are cognizant of many things that escape those who only dream by night."</span><span></span></p>

<p><span>Late last year, the fashion house released a film showcasing the same collection with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/saint-laurent-summer-2021-collection-short-film-anthony-vaccarello-gaspar-noe" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gasper No&eacute;</a>, titled <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd5vHr-RJPg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">"Summer of '21."</a> The project founds its roots in Italian <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/chic-halloween-costume-films" target="_blank" rel="noopener">horror</a> cinema from the '<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/LOFFICIELUSA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">70s</a>&mdash;called <em>giallo</em>&mdash;while implementing elements of the brand's '60s French aesthetic. The video featured Charlotte Rampling as she prepares for her call time on stage in the eerie mansion. Models flutter down the hallways and around the home's salon, presenting the collection's <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/pop-punk-resurgence-music-fashion-tiktok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">punk</a>-inspired garments within a continental European context.</span></p>
