Salma Hayek's Best Red Carpet Moments
In celebration of the actress' 57th birthday, take a look back at her best red carpet looks.
With a long and illustrious career of red carpet moments dating back to the '90s, there is no shortage of fashion looks to choose from when it comes to Salma Hayek. The Mexican-American actress first appeared on screens in the 1989 telenovela Teresa before moving to Los Angeles and becoming a Hollywood starlet.
She appeared in films such as Desperado (1995) and Dogma (1999), as well as the George Clooney flick From Dusk Till Dawn (1996). Her real breakthrough came in 2002 when she starred in and produced Frida, a biopic about Frida Kahlo. The film went on to grab six Academy Award nominations, including Best Actress.
The following year, Hayek had her directorial debut with The Maldonado Miracle and earned herself a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Directing. Since then, she's maintained a steady stream of parts in blockbusters like Grown Ups (2010) and The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017), as well as an executive producer role on the TV show Ugly Betty (2006-2010).
Outside of acting, Hayek is a staunch feminist, wife to French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, breastfeeding advocate, and frequent cosmetics spokesperson. She was also one of the women to speak out against Harvey Weinstein during his public reckoning in 2017. That year, Hayek published an op-ed in the New York Times about her personal experiences with the producer.
On the red carpet, Hayek is clearly a fan of the floor-length gown. She's been donning the style since her rise to fame in the early '90s. Whether it's at the Oscars or the MTV Awards, Hayek isn't afraid to go all out in a bold, glittery gown. See for yourself below.
