Sofia Richie Has a New Clothing Brand in the Works
The queen of "stealth wealth," Sofia Richie, "quietly" revealed she's planning to release a new clothing brand.
This year has proved to be the reign of Sofia Richie. From becoming the It girl of "quiet luxury" to having one of the most anticipated and lavish weddings of 2023, Richie is on a roll, and shows no signs of slowing down. Adding to her It girl status is her latest subtle announcement that's she working on a "top secret-ish" clothing line while speaking with Vogue.
"We are creating this beautiful clothing line that brings out how I feel the most comfortable dressing," she said. While sorting through various fabrics and colors with her business team, she alluded that there will be around 80-pieces and that this project has been months in the making.
Sharing further details about the clothing brand in a recent interview with Who What Wear, the 24-year-old noted that the "aesthetic is very [her] vibe."
Is that "vibe" in question tied to the "quiet luxury" aesthetic the internet has made Richie the face of? According to her, while the term "sounds really nice, so [she's] not knocking it," it's much more about being "timeless."
"I made sure, trying on every single sample, that it embodies the aesthetic that I've been wearing," she said. "It’s 100% me."
She continued, "I’ve watched Nicole [Richie] design for years with House of Harlow, and it has definitely been inspiring for me. I’ve taken notes, and I’ve learned a lot. We don’t need to be people that just throw our names on things. We can be passionate and be involved."
She gave a brief rundown of the design process alongside co-designer Cass, sharing they sat down in Richie's backyard and "built this whole story based on things that inspire [them]."
"I want whoever buys it to feel good in it. I hope that people connect with it," Richie said. "I hope people love it."
Further details, such as a lookbook, confirmed brand name, and launch date, have continued to be kept under wraps — very on brand with Richie's tendency for subtleness. That said, given how much the Internet and fashion enthusiasts alike can't get enough of Richie's style, this is a clothing brand that will certainly closely watched for any new news.
