Brands like Fila and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/adidas-originals-prada-resource-nft-metaverse" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adidas</a> have crafted a new sartorial code defined by sports. Exhibit A: the Samba. Luxury fashion brands like <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/miu-miu-fall-winter-2023-collection-looks-runway-photos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miu Miu</a> have increasingly drawn inspiration from niche sports, adding the words <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/tenniscore-preppy-style-trend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tenniscore</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/how-to-style-balletcore-trend-ballet-flats" target="_blank" rel="noopener">balletcore</a>, and even <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/stirrup-pant-fashion-comeback-diesel-ysl-balenciaga" target="_blank" rel="noopener">equestrian-core</a> into our <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/how-to-make-tik-tok-trends-high-fashion-corsets" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok fashion</a> vocabulary.

Looking further back, &lsquo;90s <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/why-are-tiktokers-hating-on-streetwear" target="_blank" rel="noopener">streetwear</a> was similarly characterized by athletic references, with NFL <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/fall-coats-for-women-shopping" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bombers</a> and LA Lakers tees spotted on just about every <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/celebrity-baby-news-2023-pregnancy-announcements" target="_blank" rel="noopener">celebrity</a> at the time. Basically, athletic themes have been somewhat of a slow burn in the fashion landscape, lending longevity to the sporty trend. Now that many are growing bored of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/ballet-flats-to-shop-tory-burch-miu-miu" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ballet flats</a> and designer <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/history-of-tennis-whites-trend-summer-2021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tennis</a> bags, we&rsquo;re returning to the trend&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/how-to-get-thin-90s-eyebrows-without-plucking-brow-trend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nineties</a> roots, to a more on-the-nose riff on athleticism.&nbsp;
