Timoth&eacute;e Chalamet served up a history-making look that&rsquo;s equal parts high fashion and banana Laffy Taffy.&nbsp;

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/tags/timothee-chalamet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Timoth&eacute;e Chalamet</a> knows how to turn heads, and Sunday night's <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/tags/oscars-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Oscars</a> red carpet were no exception. The actor arrived draped in a bright yellow suit (that immediately conjures images of banana-flavored Laffy Taffy). But peel back the layers (pun intended), and the actor's suit isn&rsquo;t just a playful fashion moment. It&rsquo;s a historic one.&nbsp;
Chalamet's yellow suit at the Oscars is by <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/tags/givenchy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Givenchy</a>, but not just any Givenchy. It's first custom suit designed under new creative direction <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/sarah-burton-givenchy-artistic-director" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sarah Burton</a>, who marking her debut collection for the French house this March. After nearly three decades at Alexander McQueen, Burton took the reins at Givenchy last year, and Chalamet&rsquo;s red carpet look is officially the first sighting of her menswear vision in motion. Taylor McNeill styled Chalamet's look (and has been behind many of his ensembles lately).
It&rsquo;s a fitting partnership for the actor, who has become synonymous with red carpet risk-taking. Just last month, Chalamet pulled up to a film premiere <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/timothee-chalamet-lime-bike-london-premiere-a-complete-unkown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">on a Lime bike</a>, fully committing to his reputation as Hollywood&rsquo;s resident sartorial wildcard. Sunday night, though, Chalamet is nominated for Best Actor for his performance in <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/timothee-chalamet-a-complete-unknown-trailer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A Complete Unknown</a>, where he takes on the role of a young Bob Dylan navigating the early days of his career.

Win or lose, Chalamet has already cemented his place in red carpet history, furthering what he called his "quest for greatness" during his viral <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/best-speeches-sag-awards-2025-jane-fonda-kieran-culkin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Best Actor acceptance speech</a> at the 2025 SAG Awards. His Givenchy moment is a bold, history-making choice&mdash;and if anyone can make a high-fashion banana suit look iconic, it&rsquo;s him.
