An HBO documentary detailing the life of Ralph Lauren is coming this fall, providing an in-depth glimpse into the creator of one of American fashion's most successful brands. Very Ralph features direction and production by the award-winning documentary filmmaker Susan Lacy, who was able to perfectly capture the unique power of the iconic designer.

Not only did Lauren found his namesake brand, but he's also the father of a collective stylistic expression that for over 50 years has defined American fashion. The visionary has built a veritable celebration of the nation's identity, recounting the optimism of the American dream that lives on through all its residents.

The film covers the designer's impressive career arc from his beginnings to the creation and success of his now-iconic fashion house, with interviews detailing his pioneering vision and the most important moments of his life. Lauren has been a man of firsts: he was the first designer to create a complete lifestyle brand by expanding into home furnishings, one of the first to defend diversity on the catwalk and in advertising, and was the first American designer to create immersive commercial environments, like the smart fitting rooms that debuted in 2015, in order to transform shopping trips into experiences. In addition to Lauren's story, the documentary contains fifty years of brand archival information as well as intimate interviews with his family and famous collaborators including Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, André Leon Talley, Hillary Clinton, Robin Givhan, Jason Wu, Naomi Campbell, Martha Stewart , Calvin Klein, Tyson Beckford, Tina Brown, Diane von Furstenberg, Jessica Chastain, Paul Goldberger, and Vanessa Friedman.

Very Ralph premieres on November 12 exclusively on HBO and all affiliated platforms.
