Netflix Drops First Look at 'Bridgerton' Season 2

Hold onto your petticoats Bridgerton fans! After months of waiting, Netflix has finally given viewers a look at Season 2 and the next steamy romance to capture the hearts of millions.

As many know, Bridgerton is based on the book series of the same by Julia Quinn. Each of the eight novels in the series focuses on one of the eight Bridgerton children in Regency-era London. The TV show's first season, following the plot of Quinn's book The Duke & I, introduces the whole family, specifically the eldest daughter Daphne (played by Phoebe Dynevor) as she makes her societal debut on the marriage mart. In a roundabout way, she finds herself falling for the everso handsome Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) who just so happens to be her brother Anthony's best friend.

Now, in the upcoming season, the series turns its attention away from Daphne and onto her oldest brother Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey). Season 2 is expected to follow the novel series' sophomore title The Viscount Who Loved Me. This season's love interest, Kate Sharma, will be played by Sex Education actress Simone Ashley. Kate has been described as a "smart and headstrong woman," suggesting she's more than a match for the fierce and brooding Anthony.

In fact, as a part of Netflix's global TUDUM event, the streaming platform revealed that our favorite members of the ton won't be returning to our screens until 2022. *sigh* However, instead of making fans wait until next year to get a glimpse of Kanthony's story, the series released a short clip of Season 2 that proves that Kate is not a woman to be trifled with.

Bailey and Ashley also joined cast members Nicola Coughlan and Charithra Chandran during TUDUM in a small panel to discuss what fans can expect from the coming episodes. Needless to say, we're counting down the days until Season 2.
