Streaming services, having made a major impact with young talents and poignant statements, continued to reign.

This year&#39;s Emmy Awards proved the internet is full speed ahead on its continued quest to take over the TV world.&nbsp;The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel&nbsp;was the night&#39;s big winner with seven&nbsp;awards including Outstanding Comedy Series, while&nbsp;The Crown&nbsp;received honors for directing as well as Claire Foy&#39;s final season as Queen Elizabeth II before Olivia Colman takes over.&nbsp;Black Mirror,&nbsp;GLOW,&nbsp;and&nbsp;The Handmaid&#39;s Tale&nbsp;were also representing television&#39;s new age, and the casts of&nbsp;Stranger Things&nbsp;and&nbsp;Queer Eye&nbsp;turned heads with their red carpet style, as always. It seems HBO, which saw its crown jewel Game of Thrones&nbsp;take home the award for Outstanding Drama Series, is one of the last traditional channels to have a dominant presence in this field, and even this network has an online streaming service.

Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu&#39;s ever-increasing TV dominance, unlike internet influence in some other fields, feels like anything but a social media gimmick.&nbsp;The Handmaid&#39;s Tale hits&nbsp;home with a dystopian view on women&#39;s rights that seems not so far away, The Crown&nbsp;continues to impress with its attention to historical accuracy, and&nbsp;The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel&nbsp;follows an empowering narrative for its female lead, breaking 1950s boundaries. In fact, the night was so full of creativity and hope that Oscars director Glenn Weiss proposed to his girlfriend on stage upon winning his Emmy.
