Take a First Look at the New Teaser for HBO's 'House of the Dragons'

HBO released its first trailer for the Game of Thrones prequel series set to air in 2022.

HBO has finally released the trailer for its upcoming prequel series to Game of Thrones. Ahead of the streaming service's European launch, HBO Max's House of the Dragon teaser sets the mood for the show as it reveals past Targaryens.

The new series is set 200 years prior to the events of the original show as it chronicles the history of House Targaryen. The prequel is adapted from George R.R. Martin's 2018 novel Fire & Blood.

The cast includes Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, and Olivia Cooke as members of the Targaryen ruling family. HBO also announced that Savannah Steyn, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, and Theo Nate have joined the cast as members of the Velaryon family.

While there is no set release date yet, the 10-episode season will premiere on HBO in May 2022. See the official teaser below.
